Providing Vital Services to Empower IDPs

Launch of second phase of war-affected support in Zalingei Central Darfur

AWAFY team embarked Thursday, May 2, 2024, on first activity in the “Empowering IDPs through Essential Services” Project supported by Norwegian People´s Aid, in the IDPs Gathering Points Center (shelters) of Zalingei city.

The activity involves distributing food Items including sugar, oil, and corn/millet to several targeted Gathering Points (shelters) in Zalingei. On this day of the activity, four members of the “AWAFY” team, along with three members of the Center committee, participated in distributing food Items to 46 out of 47 targeted HH in the School of Alaradi Gathering Point (shelter), Amidst the smiles and warmth that lit up the faces of the families members, AWAFY Organization will keep reflecting our humanitarian messages through providing support and security, and opening new doors of hope and optimism in the face of these difficult circumstances experienced, “AWAFY” hope to sets a successful example of institutional cooperation and humanitarian solidarity between international and local Organizations, we managed to create smiles, spread warm words, and foster positivity in the families of Alaradi School Gathering Point (shelter), and we strive to provide more support to those in need.

Distribution will continue of 19 IDP gathering Points (shelters) for 500 households, in particular, Rehabilitation and construction of Latrains in addition to Psychological Support Forums.
