As part of its interventions to mitigate the effects of the war, and as part of the 16-day campaign against gender-based violence, AWAFY Sudanese Organization carried out health awareness sessions at gathering point shelters in Zalingei city between 6 – 7 December 2023:
- Zalingei Police Hospital shelter
- Estrah Boarding House shelter
The sessions targeted 56 households with a focus on mothers, pregnant and lactating women, and women of childbearing age. The sessions addressed the concept of health awareness and health care for children, mothers, and pregnant women.
Women in conflict zone areas face extremely difficult and complex situations, so our team works with the highest priority in providing health and awareness-raising services to ensure women’s and girls’ health safety and to create safe spaces free of gender-based violence.
